How To Change KeePass Master Password

Changing the Master Password in KeePass is very simple to do. It’s the password guarding all your other passwords so it’s important to make it a secure one.

Open Database

Open the database with your present password.

Change Master Key

Go to File and then Change Master Key.

Change Composite Master Key

Type in your new master password.

Choosing a Master Password

newpassword is not a good password.

When the colored bar is in the bright green zone that means good security. Choose a mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers or special characters.

Choose a phrase that you can easily remember. Also write it down somewhere private in case you forget.

And then click OK.

Repeat Master Password

Type in your new password again. And click OK.

Success

Save your database.
